What motivated you to become a runner?
We as a family were going through a difficult situation which brought sorrow, heartache, and depression.  I knew I needed to do something positive and healthy for myself if I was going to help myself and family.  I'd ran before and lost weight so I thought I would try it again.  I was doing good on my own, but my knees were hurting.  I met Coach Kaeli at physical therapy, and when I asked her if I could still run she suggested I join the BE YOU Training group.  BEST ADVISE EVER!!!!  Much to my surprise, the whole family joined.  Everyone still runs, some of us more than others.  Since joining the BE YOU Training group, I've run 5K's, 5miles, 10K, half marathons and two full marathons, in the past two years.

What is your favorite race distance?
I haven't done a distance I didn't like.

What was your favorite race or running event?
The Ragnar Trail at Crystal Mountain.  I love relays runs and Crystal Mountain was the hardest run I've done.  I was so proud of myself when I got to the top - I actually had tears coming out of my eyes!

What are your goals for 2019?
I'd love to try a 50K

What is your favorite post-race meal?
Bloody Mary and Fish & Chips (in that order:))

During a race, what is the food at an aid station that makes you retch?
None that I know of!

What do you tell yourself for motivation as you run up the steepest hills?
"I can do it, I can it, I can do it" But, I'm also ok with walking if walking faster than my run.

What is your favorite running inspirational quote?
RUNNING IS ABOUT CONSISTENCY, Fall in Love with the process and the results with come . . . (I'm not sure of the author)  As Coach Dude has said, "Trust the Process".

What is your favorite running shoe?
Mizuno Wave Inspire

Do you prefer trucker hats or mesh hats or no hat for running and why?
Actually, I prefer a visor.  I get so hot when I run I like the air on my head, but I also need my hair out of my face.

Do you prefer running on roads or trails and why?
Trails for sure!  Love being out in nature.

What is your biggest reason you continue to run?
Running has completely changed my life - I'm afraid to stop.  LOL  Truthfully, it really has changed my life.  I'm so grateful that I'm physically able to run.   I eat better because I want to eat better.  I work better because my mind is clear.  I've learned to plan better from the training schedules.  I have so much more energy and confidence.  I love better because I love myself.
