Ask the Shoe Fitter is pretty excited about bringing two new monthly segments to our SHOES-n-FEET blog. The first, "Shoe Fitter of the Month," will introduce you to the big personalities that make up the SHOES-n-FEET team at our locations in California and Washington. Next week, we will debut our "Shoe of the Month," giving you all the details about the special pair of shoes making us smile every month. For April, we've selected Lara W. from SnF Federal Way to take the first shot at our questionnaire. We are especially happy to have such a resourceful shoe fitter in our ranks - earrings really would make great fish hooks!

How long have you been working for SHOES-n-FEET? Almost 10 years now – first in the Bellevue SnF location and now in the Federal Way SnF location
What is the first pair of shoes you remember? The first pair of shoes I remember are ones I wore on the first day of kindergarten. They were a brown leather T-strap shoe with a slight lug sole.
If you could travel to one place in the world, where would it be? If I could travel to one place in the world, it would be India – there is always something interesting and fascinating going on in India.
What’s your biggest foot- or shoe-related pet peeve? I have one phrase for that: “slip-on slip-off!”
If you were a superhero, would you rather have the power to run really fast or to jump really high? If I were a superhero, I would rather have the ability to run really fast – so that I could get to places faster and/or avoid rain drops.
What is your favorite outdoor activity? My favorite out door activity is playing at the dog park with my sweetheart Jaime & my two basset hounds Gertie Mae and Gus!
What pair of shoes could you not live without? A gal who is a hoot and a half should always have a great pair of red dress shoes that she can wear all day! My current favorite pair is my Zieras (Kumfs) Control in Red Patent Leather.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three items with you, what would they be and why? Sunscreen (with my fair skin I burn!!!), a sturdy pair of “flashy” earrings (there are so many uses for earrings—from fish hooks to starting fire), and a very sharp knife!
If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Do I have to choose just one food? I love Mexican and always have room for anything Mexican.
What’s your favorite thing about Federal Way? I love how Federal Way is so diverse! It tickles me pink when I go into the grocery store and can over hear five different languages spoken – it also means a lot of great ethnic food to choose from!
