July's Shoe Fitter of the Month: Mike Duey, SHOES-n-FEET Federal Way

Posted by JB Smith, Co-Owner on

For July, we're featuring Mike Duey from our SHOES-n-FEET Federal Way. When Mike isn't busy fitting customers with the perfect shoe, there's a good chance you might find him flyfishing somewhere in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Name:    Mike Duey

SHOES-n-FEET location:    Federal Way

Position:    Sales Associate

How long have you been working for SHOES-n-FEET?

8 ½ years

What is the first pair of shoes you remember?

Rubber Boots.

If you could travel to one place in the world, where would it be?

New Zealand

What’s your biggest foot- or shoe-related pet peeve?

Manufacturer hang tags attached to new shoes!  They are a waste of resources and my time removing them.

If you were a superhero, would you rather have the power to run really fast or to jump really high?

Jump higher.  I played basketball and volleyball until I was 45.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Flyfishing.

What pair of shoes could you not live without?

New Balance MW928 walking shoes, because they make me walk better.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have 3 items with you, what would they be and why?

1) My Swiss Army Knife - I've always wanted to use all the blades/tools.

2) A Magnesium Fire Starter Tool - I am a big “Survivor” fan.

3) My favorite flyrod - I would be eating quite well on all the fish that I would catch.

If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Stir-fry.

What’s your favorite thing about SHOES-n-FEET Federal Way?

The opportunity to help solve the foot problems of our customers and improve their quality of life.
